The Science Academy Young Scientists Program (BAGEP) Scholarship Award, an award program created in 2013 by the Science Academy with the aim of encouraging young scientists and rewarding exemplary practice. The Vehbi Koç Foundation has supported the program by funding 10 scholarships every year since its foundation.
Established in 2013, the award program receives support from the public rather than government funds and seeks to identify the best young scientists under 40, rewarding and supporting them in new research. Young academics who win the award are provided with two years’ funding of TRY 15,000 for each year to support their research. As part of the project, 20 awards were given in 2013, 43 in 2014, 42 in 2015, 48 in 2016, 42 in 2017, and 39 in 2018.
