Village Schools Exchange Network

Village Schools Exchange Network (Köy Okulları Değişim Ağı, KODA), is a non-governmental organization founded in 2016 to support holistic, high-standard education suited to rural conditions at village schools. During the 2017-18 academic year, the Vehbi Koç Foundation contributed towards KODA’s work, which aims to develop teachers in rural schools, empowering them both personally and professionally, while developing and implementing child-centered, innovative model practices to raise educational standards. As part of this initiative, teacher’s gatherings, summer camps and other festivities were organized at 10 schools in the provinces of Kastamonu, Mardin, Muş and Samsun. Monthly workshops arranged at pilot rural schools provided support for children’s academic, emotional and cognitive development.
