Orhon, (Hüseyin)Talat

Orhon, (Hüseyin) Talat (b. September 24, 1924, Sürmene, Trabzon – d. December 5, 2006, Istanbul), banker and director. Represented İşbank on the Vehbi Koç Foundation Board of Directors from 1974 to 1980.

Orhon completed his secondary education at Trabzon High School and graduated in 1950 from Istanbul University Faculty of Economics. His career began at İşbank, where he served as assistant auditor, auditor and manager of the Şişli branch, before joining the bank’s board of directors in 1967. He remained in this position until he was appointed as deputy chief executive in 1972. In October 1980, he became the general director of Türkiye Şişe ve Cam Fabrikaları AŞ (Turkish Glass Factories Inc.) and a member of its board of directors, retiring in 1989 when he reached the mandatory retirement age. He also served as deputy chair of the Dışbank Board of Directors and chair of the Yatırım Finansman AŞ Board of Directors. In 1987, Orhon received an honorary doctorate from Istanbul Technical University.
