Koç, Ali Y(ıldırım)

Koç, Ali Y(ıldırım) (b. April 2, 1967), businessman. Alongside his other roles, he has been vice chair of the Koç Holding Board of Directors and a member of the Vehbi Koç Foundation Board of Directors since 2016.
 
Ali Koç is the third son of Rahmi M. Koç and Çiğdem Koç (later Simavi) and the third grandson of Vehbi Koç and Sadberk Koç. He completed his secondary education at Harrow School in London in 1985 and graduated with a business degree from Rice University, Houston, USA, in 1989. From 1990 to 1991, he attended the executive training program at the American Express Bank in New York. He served as a financial and organizational coordinator at Ramerica International Inc. in New York (1991-92) and an analyst for Morgan Stanley & Group (1992-94). He completed an MBA at Harvard University (1995-97).

He began working as a coordinator for new business development at Koç Holding in 1997. In 2000, he became president of the Information Group Executive Committee and then president of the Information Group in 2002. Between 2006 and 2010, he was president of the Corporate Communication and Information Group. In 2008, he became a member of the Koç Holding Board of Directors and was appointed vice chair in February 2016.
  He is currently president of the board of directors at several Koç Holding companies, including Yapı Kredi Bank, Ford Otosan, Koçtaş, Koç Information and Defence Technologies Inc., Koç Sistem, Otokar, Setur and Otokoç, and vice chair of the board at TÜPRAŞ, Opet and other companies. He is vice president of the board of directors at Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), president of the National Competition Research Association, member of the Global Advisory Councils of Harvard University and Bank of America, and member of the board of directors at Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) and Endeavor Active Entrepreneurship Support Association. Former president of the 1907 Fenerbahçe Association (2004-17), Koç was elected president of Fenerbahçe Sports Club in 2018.

Ali Y. Koç married Nevbahar Demirağ (see Nevbahar Koç) on October 21, 2005; they have two children, Leyla Sadberk (b. 2006) and Kerim Rahmi (b. 2008) (see Koç Family).
