Ashoka Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Program

Ashoka Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Program, a program conducted by Ashoka Turkey, Turkey chapter of the global social entrepreneurship platform Ashoka, aiming at supporting social entrepreneurs and developing the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. Vehbi Koç Foundation (VKV) has provided annual grant to Ashoka Turkey’s Social Entrepreneurship Program since 2018, to fulfill its vision of supporting social entrepreneurship, which produces systematic solutions to social problems and strengthens the field of philanthropy, in Turkey.

The scope of the grant covers one-on-one consulting by the Ashoka Turkey team to Ashoka fellows, social entrepreneurs elected for fellowship by Ashoka, as well as providing support to fellows’ participation in events abroad.

In addition, Ashoka Turkey holds community meetings that enable social entrepreneurs to meet with colleagues and other stakeholders in the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. Ashoka Turkey organized the annual Social Entrepreneurship Day since 2018 in partnership with the Vehbi Koç Foundation. The event brings together social entrepreneurs with industry, nonprofit and public sector leaders.

VKV’s partnership with Ashoka Turkey to promote social entrepreneurship, continues also as part of the Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Network project, which aims to strengthen and expand the ecosystem, together with a group of organizations.
