Village School Teachers’ Communication and Mutual Aid Society

Village School Teachers’ Communication and Mutual Aid Society, a civil society organization which supports rural teachers and students, and encourages education and teaching for adults living in villages. It has received support since 1975, in accordance with the provisions of the Vehbi Koç Foundation (VKV) official articles of foundation.

The society was founded in Istanbul in 1962 with the aim of providing some regularity to the individual aid donated to poorly equipped rural schools and the poor and abandoned students in them. Over the years, the society has helped provide hundreds of schools with books, clothes, shoes, teaching materials, sports and other equipment, computers, fax machines and projectors, and when requested has established libraries of 2,500-3000 books.
