Keleş, (Güven) Evren (b. March 9, 1964, Ankara), physician and director. He served as general director (2007-14) and chief physician (2008-10) at the American Hospital.
Keleş completed his secondary education at Saint-Joseph Private French High School in 1978 and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1987. From 1988 to 1990, he undertook a residency in brain and nerve surgery at Marmara University School of Medicine. He completed postgraduate studies in neuro-oncology at Washington University Department of Neurosurgery in Seattle, USA, from 1991 to 1992, and in the following year began serving as chief intern in the Department of Brain and Nerve Surgery at Marmara University School of Medicine. He worked in the Department of Neurosurgery at the American Hospital from 1995 to 1998. From 1997 to 2006, he was a member of the teaching staff at California University, San Francisco, specializing in the surgical treatment of brain tumors. Dr. Keleş began working at the American Hospital in 2006 and served as general director from 2007 to 2014. He served as responsible director for a while in 2008, when he became chief physician until 2010.
Prof. Keleş was appointed associate dean at Koç University School of Medicine in 2010 and became a professor in 2014. He taught neurological surgery until 2018, while also performing his duties as dean. Prof. Keleş has published around 30 book chapters and more than 40 scientific papers, and has also served on the editorial board of Neuro-Oncology and the Journal of Neuro-Oncology.
