Koç Family Galleries of Ottoman Art at the Metropolitan Museum

Koç Family Galleries of Ottoman Art at the Metropolitan Museum, two galleries in the Metropolitan Museum Islamic Arts Section in New York, established in 2009 with the support of the Vehbi Koç Foundation (VKV) and named after the Koç family. For its 40th anniversary, the VKV donated 10 million dollars to expand, redesign, and renovate the galleries. Koç family members attended the opening ceremony in the Metropolitan Museum on November 1, 2011. The first exhibitions were “Carpets, Textiles, and the Greater Ottoman World" in gallery 459 and “Ottoman Palace Arts (14th-20th centuries)” in gallery 460. The gallery, which reflects the multi-layered society and art of the Ottoman era, will carry the Koç name for 75 years.
