Vehbi Koç Büyükdere House

Vehbi Koç Büyükdere House, an exhibition space of the Vehbi Koç Foundation (VKV). Located in Büyükdere, Istanbul, the house was used as the Koç Family’s summerhouse until 1996. The building was transformed into a permanent exhibition space in 2018.

Vehbi Koç and his family spent the summers in Istanbul from the 1920s onwards. In 1938, he bought the house in Büyükdere and the grove behind it from the Frenkyan Family. The building with a large garden was used as the Koç family’s summerhouse until Vehbi Koç’s passing in 1996.

Büyükdere House opened its doors to the public in September 2018. The exhibition displaying the kilim collection, which Josephine Powell, one of the last travelers of Anatolia, donated to the Vehbi Koç Foundation after her passing in 2007, is exhibited in the Vehbi Koç Büyükdere House. Josephine Powell Collection is exhibited in the Büyükdere House permanently.
